We’re happy to share that EdTool.ai powered by Learnetic has been named a finalist in two categories at the GESS Awards 2026: Best AI Product/Tool in Education and Secondary Resource/Equipment Supplier of the Year.
Now in its 13th edition, the GESS Education Awards celebrate excellence across the international education community, recognising educational products, resources, services, institutions and professionals. The 2026 awards attracted 1,200+ submissions across 30 categories, evaluated by a panel of 25+ expert judges. Their wider aim is to recognise quality and diversity across education while helping raise standards throughout the industry.
Being shortlisted in two categories is particularly meaningful for us. The Best AI Product/Tool in Education category recognises the role AI can play in supporting teaching and learning, while Secondary Resource/Equipment Supplier of the Year reflects EdTool’s broader value as a practical resource for secondary education.
What sets EdTool apart
Many AI tools support a single step, such as generating a lesson, creating a quiz or helping a student practise. EdTool brings these activities together in one connected workflow, so teachers can move from lesson preparation to student results without switching between separate tools.
In practice, that means teachers can:
- Create editable lessons, quizzes and activities from a textbook page, PDF, image or prompt
- Assign tasks directly to students by link or QR code
- Assess open-ended responses with AI assistance based on teacher-defined criteria
- Analyse individual and class results in real time
- Personalise further practice with the EdTool AI Assistant
- Browse 50,000+ ready-made interactive STEM and Special Education resources, including AI-powered visual search

The value of this connected approach becomes clearer when we look at how it can support a teacher through a typical classroom workflow.
How AI supports a real classroom workflow
A teacher can start with something they already use, such as a textbook page, PDF or photo of existing teaching materials. EdTool’s AI interprets both the written and visual content and turns it into editable interactive activities adapted to the selected age group.
Instead of producing a static worksheet, EdTool can generate activities such as matching, gap-fill, drag-and-drop, multiple-choice and open-ended questions. The teacher reviews the material, makes any changes and assigns it directly to the class.
Once students start working, AI can support the next stages too. For open-ended questions, the teacher defines the assessment and feedback criteria, and EdTool assists with evaluating responses against them. Where enabled, the EdTool AI Assistant can give students hints, explanations and additional practice based on their needs rather than simply providing the answer.
At the same time, teachers can follow individual and class results through real-time reports. They give teachers the information they need to identify learning gaps and decide what should happen next.
This creates a practical AI-supported cycle: start with existing teaching content, create interactive activities, assign them, support assessment and give students further practice without leaving the platform.
And throughout the process, the teacher remains in control. AI-generated materials are fully editable, teachers define assessment criteria and decide when and how AI support is used with their students.
