How to activate a license in EdTool for my school?
To activate EdTool license for your School, you first need to create your individual EdTool account.
- Create your personal EdTool account and log in.
- Go to My School and click Add New School.
- Enter your school name and click Create.
- Click Activate School License, enter the activation code, and click Activate.
- Create your first class and invite teachers and students to start using EdTool.
Note: Each activation code can only be assigned to one school. If you activate it for the wrong school, please contact Technical Support for assistance.

- Go to “My Content” and select “Create Lesson”.

How do I translate my lesson into another language?
Translating your lesson in EdTool is quick and seamless, with a growing list of supported languages!

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open your lesson
- Go to “My Content” and select the lesson you want to translate.
2. Use AI Translation
- Click the “Edit details” button in the lesson editor.
- Choose your target language from the list “Additional languages”.
- Click “Update lesson”.
3. Translate
- Tap into the edited lesson
- Choose the flag icon of the chosen language in the right-hand corner.
- Click the “Translate” icon on the right of the flag icon.
- AI will generate the translation instantly.
- Repeat this process for every page of the lesson
- Manually edit any sections to ensure clarity and accuracy.
4. Preview
- Preview the lesson to ensure formatting and content display correctly.

In the standard version, lessons are accessible exclusively through the app.edtool.com.

Can I share my lesson with other users?
You can share lessons with students or share teaching materials with other teachers in EdTool.
- Share with students – generate an access code and assign the lesson to your students. You can then monitor their progress and view results in real time. Watch a tutorial.
- Share with other teachers – go to My Content, find the material you want to share, click the three-dot menu in the bottom-right corner of the material card, and select Share. Enter the recipient’s email address to send them a copy of the material.
Note: The recipient’s email address must be associated with an existing EdTool account. Shared materials are copied to the recipient’s account. Each teacher works on their own copy, and any changes made later are not synchronized between accounts.
What file formats can I upload to EdTool?
EdTool supports a variety of file formats, allowing you to enhance your lessons with images, audio, and video.
Supported File Formats:
- Images – PNG, JPG, GIF
- Audio – MP3, OGG
- Video – MP4, OGV, WEBM (optimized for web playback)

How does an AI Assistant work?
AI Assistant combines adaptive learning with agentic AI elements to help students practice independently, better understand mistakes, and continuously improve through personalized exercises and feedback.
Teachers can enable AI support within assignments to provide students with additional explanations, follow-up activities, and personalized practice based on individual performance. Teachers can also monitor each student’s AI-supported learning path and provide additional guidance when needed.
Students can generate Quizzes and practice activities from textbook pages, PDFs, images, or text prompts to continue learning at their own pace.
AI Assistant is available as an additional premium feature for users with active Individual Teacher, Family, School, and University plans.
What should I know about AI-generated suggestions and feedback?
AI Assistant uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized suggestions, exercises, explanations, and feedback based on student activity and learning progress.
AI-generated content is designed to support independent learning and provide additional practice opportunities. However, AI-generated suggestions may occasionally contain inaccuracies or require verification before use.
AI Assistant supports the learning process but does not replace teachers or make autonomous educational decisions.
When AI support is enabled within assignments, teachers can follow each student’s AI-supported learning path, review conversations with AI Assistant, monitor progress, and provide additional support when needed.
School Management
How to manage My School in EdTool?
Set up and manage your educational environment effortlessly with EdTool’s school management features. This tutorial guides you through every step to get your digital classroom ready.
- Name your institution – start by setting up your school’s main profile.
- Add teachers and students – invite team members and learners to join your space.
- Organize classes – build structured groups for different subjects or grade levels.
- Manage access and roles – control who can create, assign, or view content.

Everything you need to run your school is organized in one place!
How do user permissions differ within My School in EdTool?
You can add other users to the school you created in EdTool. To manage their privileges, assign them appropriate roles. The following roles are available in your school:
- School owner – has full permissions for all actions related to the created school. They can edit school data, manage classes, and manage permissions for other school users. They can also activate content repositories.
- School admin – has similar permissions to the School Owner but cannot manage the school’s subscription or content repositories.
- Billing admin – responsible for managing the school’s subscription. Unlike the School Owner and School admin, this role does not grant access to view all classes.
- Class admin – has permissions to manage the classes they have created.
- Teacher – has permission to use the features of the classes they are assigned to. They can assign tasks to the class and create posts within the class. They cannot edit the class.
- Student – has permission to use the features of the classes they are assigned to. They do not have permissions to edit the class or the school.
How do I grant or revoke user permissions in My School?
Permissions can only be granted and revoked by accounts with the School Owner or School admin role. To grant or revoke permissions, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account and go to the My School tab in the main menu.
- Select the Permissions tab from the top menu.
- Find the teacher whose permissions you want to modify in the user list.
- Click accordingly:
- + Grant – to expand permissions,
- – Revoke – to withdraw previously assigned permissions.
- Select the appropriate permission type from the dropdown list that you want to grant or revoke (e.g. Class admin).
- Confirm the operation by clicking the button:
- Grant
- Revoke
How do I add or remove a user from My School?
Only the School Owner and School admin have the permissions to add or remove users from the School.
To add a teacher or student to the school:
- Go to the Students or Teachers tab (depending on who you want to add).
- Enter the email addresses of the people who should receive access to the school into the text field in the top right corner of the screen.
- Confirm the action by clicking the Invite Students / Invite Teachers button.
To remove a user:
- Find the person you want to remove from the list in the Students or Teachers tab.
- Click the three-dots icon next to the user’s name.
- Select Remove from the dropdown menu.

This means that all collected information – including users’ personal data – is encrypted and stored on servers subject to advanced security policies. This environment complies with top international standards and strict European Union data protection regulations (GDPR). All data is stored on servers located within the European Union.
What language model does the AI Creator in EdTool use?
EdTool’s AI Creator uses the advanced Google Gemini model, which guarantees complete stability, reliability, and system continuity. All data entered into the EdTool AI Creator is processed exclusively in certified data centers within the European Union (in full compliance with GDPR) and is deleted immediately after the task is completed. As a result, your data will never be used to train AI models.
